If you told me there was a workout out there that was fun, easy to do, and made me wish for more, I probably would have told you that you’re insane.
As you all may or may not be aware, I hate exercising.
I, an accountability coach, cannot STAND working out, but I know I HAVE to do it.
And it was with this attitude that helped me lose 20lbs and 4inches from my waist. Not bad at all, may I add.
But, one thing I did notice as I went through every lunge and gut-wrenching burpee…
…I always watched my clock for my workout to end.
I always wanted my workout to be over and done with quickly and painlessly.
I chalked it up to just me not enjoying fitness.
But then, I heard about a new kind of exercise that was actually fun, set to dancing music, and pretty easy to follow.
…..and that workout is called Country Heat.
I will be honest when I say that I was a little doubtful of this Country Heat workout program.
I have tried a similar program, Cize, which is high-intensity, choreographed hip-hop dancing and I felt a little ridiculous.
I am not the most accomplished dancer, and with my two left feet and flailing my arms, I was the pure definition of “white girl dancing”.
I needed something that was easier for me to follow along to but still have fun and get a decent workout.
So when the Country Heat workout came along, I was willing to give it a try. And I am sure glad I did.
What is Country Heat?
Created by super trainer and professionally trained dancer Autumn Calabrese, Country heat is a high-energy, low-impact, country dance-inspired workout with simple moves that are so much fun you’ll barely notice you’re dropping pounds while getting a great total-body workout.
An easy-to-follow, 30-day fitness program that combines 5 high-energy, cardio-based dance workouts, 1 dance conditioning workout, and the portion-control Eating Plan to maximize weight loss and achieve a toned, tightened body in just 30 minutes a day.

Country Heat Week 1 Review
The country heat workouts for week 1 are easy to follow, with just two new moves to do every 2 minutes.
I was surprised how I, Miss Lead Feet, can follow along and remember these moves. I was sweating, panting, and smiling from ear to ear. I felt good. I felt sexy. And I felt sore…in a good way.
Not only that, every workout is 30 minutes long.
So I can shake my hips and dance around my living room and get a super effective workout for my legs, thighs, abdominals, and arms in a reasonable amount of time.
Week 1 of Country Heat starts with alternating two dance routines, Country Swing and Giddy Up.
Country Swing (32 min): Go a little wild with songs like “Young & Crazy” while you crank up the calorie burn with moves like the Grease Step and 2-Timing Hop
Giddy Up (29 min): Stomp your feet as you speed up your heart rate. Moves like Scuff Squats and Saddle Jumps work your legs and glutes, but songs like “Fake ID” help you forget you’re burning major calories.
SPOILER ALERT: Week 2 has a dance routine with the song “FOOLOOSE” EEEEEEEKKKKK
Country Heat Week 1 Meal Plan
Since my Country Heat program came with the portion control containers, I was able to better plan out my week AND keep my serving sizes in check, so I don’t end up overeating or scrambling at the last minute to scrap together meals and snacks to bring to work. So, I also attached my Country Heat meal plan for the week for you to refer to and use too 🙂
What is nice is how manageable this all is with my crazy busy schedule. With my upcoming wedding, working full time, AND managing my business as a Beachbody coach, I need ALL THE HELP I can get to pre-plan my meals in advance so I don’t trip and FAIL hardcore on my nutrition goals.
Because we all know too well what happens when we get stuck in the office with good intentions but no packed lunch.
Ever been in that situation before?
I recall scavenging for food in the break room and finding donuts, muffins, cakes, sweeteners, chips, cookies, or whatever bagged or sugary treat to stuff in my mouth, thinking I can make it up later with a run on the treadmill….
and we know how that story ends, right?
Those habits will not help me get healthier or give me the nutrition I need to FEEL good or even get CLOSE to my weight loss goals. I need to make a change to my daily habits.
Not sure how to change your habits? Read my post about how to motivate yourself to do ANYTHING
So that is why I turned to meal planning. It requires a bit of forethought, but I would rather put in 30 minutes of thought than constantly live in regret on my food choices or constantly frustrated that I will never hit my ideal weight. I made my reasons so much bigger than my excuses.
That is all I got to report about week 1. So far, I am having a lot more fun than expected; the workouts feel short and sweet, and I work up an amazing sweat afterwards. Definitely looking forward to what week 2 has to bring!
Ready to try Country Heat?
If there is one thing I want you to take away from this….
…if I can get through this workout smiling and wanting more, I know you can too.
Country Heat has proven to me that there is hope for the person who can’t standing exercising and would much rather feel good and fit rather than stuck in a boring routine. I’m just being real with you.
Plus, who doesn’t love to dance like a silly person to awesome music? You can even watch me take a stab at it. I’m awkward and I have two left feet, but boy am I having a blast.
If you are ready to take your health to the next level without weights, trips to the gym, or shoveling gross protein powder down the gullet, I want to work with you. We need all the help, support, and guidance we can get to combat obesity and health-related diseases.
